Our day started with two hours of frantic packing, and a one-hour wait in customs (with an additional hour spent waiting for the keys to our Parisian flat.) Worth it? Every second of it! I would've hated to do this alone, but I'm traveling to Paris Fashion Week with my friend and creative collaborator, Zana Bayne, who's known for her exquisitely hand-crafted leather harnesses, footwear, and accessories. Our flat is cute and homey, fully equipped with a cozy bed, a spacious closet, and working wifi. Most importantly, we've got stack of show invitations waiting to be opened.

First, we headed out for a relaxing stroll through the Jardin du Luxembourg, and closed the day by popping €5 bottle of champagne* in front of the Eiffel Tower as the lights flashed at 11pm.

Today's post is in black and white, but starting tomorrow, we'll be posting in full-on color.

*Like any self-respecting New Yorker, I bargained with a street vendor who originally wanted me to pay €45 for a warm bottle. I'll be happily spending that €40 on cabs this week!
