Luckily for us, Alejandra Deheza never turns down a challenge. She did, after all, start School of Seven Bells on a whim, alongside guitarist Benjamin Curtis of Secret Machines and her twin sister Claudia, who is no longer in the band. In 2008, the band released their critically acclaimed, Alpinisms, an echo-y, glimmering debut album.Deheza had a little time to kill before the February 28 release of the band’s second record, Ghostory, so she indulged us by filling out our patented questionnaire, which answers universal questions like: Does the fairy-tale sky queen ever escape hell? (Spoiler alert: Yes, she does.) Is sleep really just a way to pass time?  Are comparisons to fiction safer than comparisons to reality? And shouldn’t we all just rejoice at the Mayan calendar? You’re about to find out.
